The new editor brings together the best parts of PowerPoint, Google Slides and Canva - but with additional Hive magic 🪄. The headline? You can now insert all Hive learning tools directly into your slides. But honestly, there's so much more functionality and features that we know you'll also love too! We recognise that with any big changes, there can be some teething issues - and we really thank you for your patience as we've worked through those this week!
Many teachers have been imploring us for a long time now to improve the slide editing experience. Whilst it is an adjustment to make, we're confident that you really are going to love the new experience.
With that said, we're here to help! For starters, to get familiar with the new slides experience, Jez will be walking through the update during this week’s onboarding call.
Join us tomorrow — Wednesday, 11th March at 7:30pm AEDT.
You can also find the onboarding notice in your dashboard notifications.
Can’t make it live? No stress — we’ll record it so you can watch anytime.
Love,
Tam, Jez and the team
P.S we absolutely recognise this is a big change, and that it may have been jarring to need to adapt so soon. We wanted to release this update asap, as so many teachers have been asking for these new features... but we also know it's a busy time of term and you may need some time to adapt. So, to ease the transition, we've enabled the ability to opt back in to use the old slide editor for each of your decks:
Using the legacy editor for a slide deck. There is also a button to switch in the top bar of the new editor
You can use the same menu to switch back to the new editor at any time - if you do so, your old deck can be synced with the new editor again using the reconvert tool in the menu dropdown:
Updating your new editor with content from the old slide editor
Please note: Changes between the old and new editor are not automatically synced. Changes in the new editor cannot be reflected in the old editor.
